শ্রীমঙ্গল শহরের নতুন বাজারের দ্বিতল কলার বাজার থেকে একটি বিষধর পিট ভাইপার (সবুজ বোড়া) সাপ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।
বুধবার (৭ মে) রাত আনুমানিক ৮টার দিকে কলার বাজারের ভেতরে হঠাৎ একটি সাপ দেখা গেলে ব্যবসায়ীদের মধ্যে আতঙ্কের সৃষ্টি হয়। আতঙ্কিত ব্যবসায়ীরা দ্রুত বাংলাদেশ বন্যপ্রাণী সেবা ফাউন্ডেশনের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করলে, প্রতিষ্ঠানটির পরিচালক স্বপন দেব সজল তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে সাপটি সফলভাবে উদ্ধার করেন।
স্বপন দেব সজল জানান, “উদ্ধার করা সাপটি পিট ভাইপার প্রজাতির, যা বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম বিষধর সাপ হিসেবে পরিচিত। সাপটি নিরাপদে উদ্ধার করে পরে বন বিভাগের কাছে হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে।”
তিনি আরও বলেন, “মানুষের দ্রুত প্রতিক্রিয়া এবং সচেতনতার ফলে বড় ধরনের দুর্ঘটনা এড়ানো সম্ভব হয়েছে। আমাদের উচিত বন্যপ্রাণীদের প্রতি সহনশীল ও সচেতন আচরণ করা। প্রকৃতির ভারসাম্য রক্ষায় এসব প্রাণীর সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করা অত্যন্ত জরুরি।”
এ ঘটনায় বাজারের ব্যবসায়ীরা স্বস্তি প্রকাশ করেছেন এবং এ ধরনের উদ্যোগের জন্য বাংলাদেশ বন্যপ্রাণী সেবা ফাউন্ডেশনকে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়েছেন।

A poisonous pit Vipper (Green Bora) snake was recovered from the bital collar market in Srimangal city.
On Wednesday (May 6) at around 8 pm, when a snake suddenly saw a snake inside the banana market, it was a panic among the traders. Panicked traders quickly contacted the Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation, director of the organization, Swapan Dev Sajal immediately rescued the spot.
Swapan Dev Sajal said, "The snake of the pit is a vipper species, which is known as one of the most poisonous snakes in Bangladesh. The snake was recovered safely and then handed it over to the forest department
He added, “Man's quick reaction and awareness can lead to major accidents. We should treat wild animals equally. It is very important to ensure the safety of these animals in the balance of nature
The traders of the market have expressed their relief and thanked the Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation for such an initiative.
