On Sunday 12 July 2026, the 6th Annual Isaal-e-Sawaab Mahfil commemorating the life and legacy of the Internationally renowned Islamic scholar, Munazir-e-Azam, Bahrul Uloom, Ustazul Ulama Wal Muhaddiseen, Shaykh ul Hadith, Mufti-e-Azam, Pir-e-Kamil, Hazrat Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi Sahib Qiblah Rahimahullah (1929 - 2020), was held at the historic Brick Lane Jamme Mosque in London.
The day’s programme started by visiting the Mazar Sharif of Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (RA) followed by khatm-e-Qur'an, khatm-e-Khazegan, khatm-e-Dalailul Khairat and Zikr Mahfil. The whole day was spent in a very solemn atmosphere in commemorative discussions. Maulana Fakhrul Islam presented a nasheed in honour of Dubagi Sahib.
The gathering was organized by Allama Dubagi (Rahimahullah.) Isaal-e-Sawab Mahfil Committee, the mahfil was presided by his eldest sahibzada Allama Zillur Rahman Choudhury Dubagi.
Prominent Islamic scholars from different cities of the UK, his Murideen, Muhibbeen and people from all walks of life were present, in spite of record breaking heat wave.

In their address, the speakers paid rich tribute to the ‘intellectual, scholastic, reviving and spiritual accomplishments’ of Allama Dubagi (ra). The speakers stated that Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi Sahib Rahmatullah Alaihi was a shining star of Islamic awakening in the UK. He was an erudite scholar, a judicious mufti, a skilled organiser, an inspiring teacher, an Islamic writer and a spiritual guide. It is undeniable, that his contribution to the dissemination of religious education, Islamic culture and moral values for almost half a century among the Muslim community living in the UK. Every chapter of his long life was dedicated to the service of Islam. From acquiring knowledge to dissemination of knowledge, from establishing mosques and madrasahs to humanitarian and social leadership, he was an ideal personality in all fields.
Another important aspect of Allama Dubagi Rahmatullah Alaihi's personality was his organisational skills. He understood that along with individual efforts, institutional initiatives are also essential. He was the founder of the UK Anjuman-e-Al-Islah and one of the founders of London Darul Hadith Latifia and served as the founder-president of the UK Ulama Society, through which he played an important role in uniting the Islamic scholarly community in the UK on a well-organized platform. His leadership was characterised by foresight, wisdom, humility and a spirit of unity. He maintained good relations with all the Ulama-Pir-Mashaykh of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah.
The greatest identity of a great teacher is his students. Shaykh ul-Hadith Allama Dubagi Rahmatullah alaihi has produced thousands of students, who are today engaged in the service of Islam in different countries of the world.
The teaching method of Ustazul Ulama wal Muhaddiseen Hazrat Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (Rahimahullah) was very captivating and research-based. He did not only explain books; rather, he would also highlight the background, evidence, historical context and practical application of the topics. As a result, his students would not only pass the exams, but also get the opportunity to develop as real scholars. Many of his students at the Mahfil recollected their memories and stated that he was a very affectionate, patient and knowledgeable teacher. Because he was a great educator, he could present even difficult topics in a simple language during his lectures.
As the number of Muslim immigrants in the UK increased, the need for religious leadership increased. In that reality, Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (RA) played an important role. He realised that it was very important to preserve the Islamic identity among the expatriate Muslims, educate the new generation in religious education and make the society morally sound. To implement this goal, he became involved with various mosques, madrasahs, Islamic centres and social organisations. Through his tireless efforts, many religious education programmes were launched and countless people got the opportunity to receive the Islamic education.
Munazir-e-Azam, Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (RA)'s sermons and speeches were rich in evidence, heart warming and practical. He did not only limit the religion to theoretical discussions, but rather laid special emphasis on the application of Islam in individual, family and social life.
Bahrul Uloom Hazrat Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (RA)’s another important manifestation of knowledge was his written works. He published many books on various subjects. His works show deep research, evidence-based discussions, simple and clear language, analysis of contemporary problems, and emphasis on the purity of aqeedah and practice.
As a Mufti, Mufti-e-Azam Hazrat Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (RA) was widely accepted. He used to provide solutions to contemporary problems, and various social issues in light of Quran, Sunnah, and Fiqh. Especially in the case of new problems arising in the expatriate Muslim community, his fatwas were realistic and consistent with the principles of Shariah. He did not make hasty decisions on complex issues. Rather, he would provide well-thought-out opinions by researching, reviewing, and studying the opinions of his predecessor jurists. Due to this, his fatwas are respected and accepted by both the common people and the scholarly community.
The true beauty of a scholar is revealed in his character. Pir-e-Kamil Hazrat Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (RA) was a shining example of humility, piety, sincerity and following the Sunnah. He always emphasised on fear of Allah, self-purification and building moral character. His conduct with people was very humble and sincere. Those who came to his company have specially mentioned his sincerity, generosity, hospitality and spiritual influence. He believed that only acquiring knowledge is not enough, but using that knowledge through character and action is the real success. He is survived by three capable Sahibzada and they are carrying on his legacy.
He passed away on July 10, 2020 in the UK. His passing was mourned in different parts of the world. Numerous students, scholars, well-wishers and ordinary Muslims were deeply moved by his passing. But in reality, a scholar never leaves completely. The knowledge, students, institutions, books and ideals he left behind keeps him alive in the hearts of the people. The same happened in the case of Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi (RA). Even today, his students are spreading his teachings, his books are being read and his various initiatives are benefiting the society.
Finally, following milad, dua was led by Dubagi Sahib's eldest Sahibzada Allama Zillur Rahman Choudhury Dubagi.
