ইরানের সর্বোচ্চ ধর্মীয় নেতা আয়াতুল্লাহ আলী খামেনিকে হত্যার ঘটনাকে ‘একটি মহা অপরাধ’ হিসেবে বর্ণনা করে তীব্র নিন্দা জানিয়েছেন দেশটির প্রেসিডেন্ট মাসুদ পেজেশকিয়ান।

তার দপ্তরের এক বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়েছে, খামেনি হত্যার সমুচিত ‘জবাব’ দেওয়ার অঙ্গীকার করেছেন ইরানের প্রেসিডেন্ট।

শনিবার ইরানজুড়ে বড় ধরনের সামরিক অভিযান শুরু করে ইসরায়েল ও যুক্তরাষ্ট্র। এর পাল্টায় মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের বিভিন্ন দেশে মার্কিন ঘাঁটি লক্ষ্য করে হামলা চালায় ইরান।

গভীর রাতে ইসরায়েলের পক্ষ থেকে দাবি করা হয়, তেহরানে খামেনির কম্পাউন্ডে হামলায় তার নিহত হওয়ার ইংগিত মিলছে। পরে মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট ডনাল্ড ট্রাম্পও বলেন, খামেনি নিহত হয়েছেন বলেই তার ধারণা।

প্রথমে অস্বীকার করলেও পরে ইরানের রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত গণমাধ্যম জানায়, আয়াতুল্লাহ আলী খামেনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও ইসরায়েলের হামলায় নিহত হয়েছেন। তার মৃত্যুতে ইরানে ৪০ দিনের রাষ্ট্রীয় শোক ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।

ইরানের প্রেসিডেন্টের বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়, “এই মহা অপরাধের জবাব দেওয়া হবে। এটা ইসলামী বিশ্ব ও শিয়া মতবাদের ইতিহাসে একটি নতুন অধ্যায়ের সূচনা করবে। আমাদের শীর্ষ নেতার পবিত্র রক্ত এক গর্জনময় ঝরনার মতো প্রবাহিত হবে এবং আমেরিকান-জায়নবাদী নিপীড়ন ও অপরাধকে নির্মূল করবে।”

পেজেশকিয়ান বলেন, “এবারও আমরা সর্বশক্তি ও দৃঢ় সংকল্প নিয়ে, মুসলিম উম্মাহ ও বিশ্বের স্বাধীনচেতা মানুষের সমর্থনে, এই মহা অপরাধের হোতা ও নির্দেশদাতাদের অনুতপ্ত হতে বাধ্য করব।”

খামেনির মৃত্যুতে ৪০ দিনের শোক পালনের পাশাপাশি অতিরিক্ত সাত দিনের সরকারি ছুটিও ঘোষণা করেছেন প্রেসিডেন্ট।

আর ইরানের বিপ্লবী গার্ড বাহিনী (আইআরজিসি) এক বিবৃতিতে ‘ইরানের ইতিহাসে সবচেয়ে ধ্বংসাত্মক সামরিক অভিযান’ শুরুর ঘোষণা দিয়েছে।

বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়েছে, এই আক্রমণ ‘কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই’ শুরু হবে এবং এ অঞ্চলের ‘দখলকৃত ভূখণ্ড ও আমেরিকান সন্ত্রাসী ঘাঁটি’ নিশানা করে পরিচালিত হবে।

ইরানের ইসলামি বিপ্লবের নেতা এবং ইসলামি প্রজাতন্ত্র ইরানের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সৈয়দ রুহুল্লাহ মুসাবি খোমেনির উত্তরসূরী আয়াতুল্লাহ আলী খামেনি ১৯৮৯ সাল থেকে ইরান শাসন করে আসছিলেন।

সর্বোচ্চ নেতা হিসেবে তার হাতেই এ শিয়া ইসলামি প্রজাতন্ত্রের সরকারের সব শাখা, সামরিক বাহিনী এবং বিচার ব্যবস্থার সর্বোচ্চ ক্ষমতা ছিল। প্রায় চার দশক ধরে উপসাগরীয় অঞ্চলের সুন্নি মুসলিম রাষ্ট্রগুলোর সঙ্গে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করার মত আঞ্চলিক শক্তি তিনি গড়ে তুলতে পেরেছিলেন।

খামেনির শাসনামলে ইরানে সাতজন প্রেসিডেন্ট দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন।

১৯৩৯ সালে উত্তর-পূর্বাঞ্চলীয় শহর মাশহাদে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন আয়াতুল্লাহ আলী খামেনি। ধর্মীয় পণ্ডিতের সন্তান খামেনি ১৯৬২ সালে আয়াতুল্লাহ রুহুল্লাহ খোমেনির ধর্মীয় আন্দোলনে যোগ দেন।

১৯৭৯ সালে ইসলামী বিপ্লবের পর আলি খামেনি উপ-প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রী হন এবং ইসলামিক রেভল্যুশনারি গার্ড কোর (আইআরজিসি) গঠনে সহায়তা করেন।

১৯৮৯ সালের জুন মাসে রুহুল্লাহ খোমেনির মৃত্যু হলে ধর্মীয় নেতাদের বিশেষজ্ঞ পরিষদ খামেনিকে নতুন সর্বোচ্চ নেতা নির্বাচিত করে। শিয়া ধর্মীয় নেতাদের মধ্যে প্রয়োজনীয় মর্যাদা অর্জন না করলেও তাকে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের অনুমতি দিতে সংবিধান পরিবর্তন করা হয়।

এরপর থেকে আয়াতুল্লাহ খামেনি ইরানের রাজনীতি ও সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর ওপর দৃঢ় নিয়ন্ত্রণ বজায় রাখতে পেরেছিলেন এবং শাসনব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধে চ্যালেঞ্জগুলো কঠোর হাতে দমন করেছেন।

বিদেশ নীতির ক্ষেত্রেও তিনি ছিলেন কঠোর অবস্থানে। তিনি বরারবরই ইসরায়েল রাষ্ট্রের বিলুপ্তি চেয়েছেন, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সঙ্গে মুখোমুখি অবস্থানে যেতে পিছপা হননি।

ইরানের রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত গণমাধ্যম জানিয়েছে, শনিবার সকালে তেহরানে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও ইসরায়েলের যৌথ হামলায় খামেনির সঙ্গে তার কন্যা, জামাতা ও নাতিও নিহত হয়েছেন।

এছাড়া খামেনির শীর্ষ রাজনৈতিক উপদেষ্টা এবং ইরানের প্রতিরক্ষা কাউন্সিলের সচিব আলি শামখানিও নিহত হয়েছেন মার্কিন–ইসরায়েলি আক্রমণে।

খামেনির মৃত্যুর পর দেশটির শাসন ব্যবস্থা দেখভাল করবেন প্রেসিডেন্ট, বিচার ব্যবস্থার প্রধান এবং গার্ডিয়ান কাউন্সিলের একজন বিচারক।

ধর্মীয় বিশেষজ্ঞদের পরিষদ এখন খামেনির উত্তরসূরি ঠিক করবে। তবে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও ইসরায়েলের আক্রমণ অব্যাহত থাকায় পরিষদের সবাইকে একত্র করা কঠিন হতে পারে।

Iran’s President Masud Pejaishkyan has strongly condemned the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a great crime.
The Iranian president has pledged to provide detailed information on the Khamenei assassination, his office said in a statement.
Israel and the United States began a major military operation across Iran on Saturday. In return, Iran has targeted US bases in various countries of the Middle East.
Late at night, Israel claimed that there were indications that he was killed in the attack on Khamenei’s compound in Tehran. Later, US President Donald Trump also said that he thought Khamenei had been killed.
At first it was denied, but later the state media of Iran said that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in attacks by the United States and Israel. His death has been declared a 40-day state mourning in Iran.
The Iranian president said in a statement that this great crime will be answered. It will open a new chapter in the history of Islamic world and Shia doctrine. The holy blood of our top leader will flow like a roaring shower and eradicate American-Zionist oppression and crime.
Pageshakian said, “Once again we will force the perpetrators of this great crime to repent with all our strength and determination, in support of the Muslim Ummah and the freedom-loving people of the world.
The president has also announced an additional seven days of government leave in addition to 40 days of mourning for Khamenei’s death.
And Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a statement announced the beginning of the most destructive military operation in Iranian history.
The statement said that the attack will start in a few days and will be aimed at the occupied territories of this region and American terrorist bases.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was in power since 1989.
As the supreme leader, he had the highest power in all branches of government, military and justice system of A Shea Islamic Republic. For almost four decades, he was able to build a regional power that could compete with the Sunni Muslim states of the Gulf region.
Seven presidents served in Iran under Khamenei.
Ayatollah Ali Khameni was born in 1939 in the northeastern city of Mashhad. Khamini, the son of a religious scholar, joined Ayatollah Ruhullah Khomeini’s religious movement in 1962.
Ali Khamenei became deputy defense minister after the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and helped to form the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
When Ruhollah Khomeini died in June 1989, the Specialist Council of Religious Leaders elected Khamenei as the new supreme leader. The constitution was amended to allow him to take responsibility even if he did not achieve the required status among Shia religious leaders.
Since then, Ayatollah Khamini has maintained firm control over Iran’s politics and armed forces, and he has cracked down hard on challenges to the regime.
He was also in a tough position when it came to foreign policy. He has repeatedly called for the dissolution of the state of Israel, and did not hesitate to confront the United States.
Khamenei, along with his daughter, son-in-law and grandson were killed in a joint attack by the United States and Israel in Tehran on Saturday morning, Iran’s state media reported.
Also, Khamenei’s top political advisor and secretary of the Defense Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani was also killed in a US-Israeli attack.
After Khamenei’s death, the country will be governed by the President, head of the judiciary and a judge in the Guardian Council.
The Council of Religious Experts will now decide Khamenei’s successor. But it may be difficult to unite everyone in the Assembly as US and Israeli attacks continue.
